Frequently Asked Questions

Artificial turf can last up to 15-20 years with proper installation and maintenance.

Yes, artificial turf is safe for pets and children. Many artificial turf products are designed with pet and child safety in mind and are free from harmful chemicals.

Artificial turf is designed to withstand extreme weather conditions such as heavy rain, snow, and high temperatures. It is typically designed to drain water quickly and resist fading from sunlight exposure.

Artificial turf requires less maintenance than natural grass. It should be regularly brushed to keep the fibers upright and to remove debris. Depending on the use and amount of foot traffic, it may also need occasional cleaning.

Artificial turf can be environmentally friendly if it is made from recycled materials, and the infill used is environmentally safe. It can also reduce water usage and eliminate the need for fertilizers and pesticides.

The initial cost of installing artificial turf can be higher than installing natural grass, but over time, it can save money on water bills and maintenance costs.

Yes, some types of artificial turf can be recycled. The recyclability of the turf depends on the materials used in its construction.

How do I know which one to choose? Artificial turf face weight refers to the weight of the yarn fibers per square yard in a turf product. Generally, the higher the face weight, the denser and more durable the turf will be. However, there are other factors to consider when choosing the right face weight for your needs. Here are some key differences in face weights for artificial turf: Lighter face weights: Typically, lighter face weights are around 30-50 ounces per square yard. These products are suitable for areas with low traffic or for decorative purposes, such as landscaping or rooftop installations. Medium face weights: Medium face weights range from 50-70 ounces per square yard. These products are suitable for moderate traffic areas like residential lawns, playgrounds, or pet areas. Heavy face weights: Heavy face weights are typically over 70 ounces per square yard. These products are suitable for high-traffic areas such as sports fields, commercial landscapes, and other areas that require durability and resilience. When choosing the right face weight for your artificial turf, consider the amount of foot traffic the area will receive, the intended use of the turf, and your budget. Generally, a higher face weight will result in a more durable product, but it may also come with a higher price tag.

Had my existing putting green replaced by Robert and his team. The putting green came out great and couldn’t be happier. I needed some additional work done on the green and his team cane back within a few days to complete it.

AZ Grass Pros did a fantastic job on our backyard. The crew was on time and great to work with. Additionally, the owner, was very pleasant to work with. He was very patient with my husband and I and spent a lot of time assisting us with creating the best design for our family needs and our budget. We started with a huge, dirt lot and finished with a dreamy, low maintenance backyard! We utilized AZ grass pros for turf and pavers. Overall, we found AZ Grass Pros to be an honest company and they are great at what they do!

In June of 2023, I had some pavers installed by AZ Grass Pros on the North side of my property so that I could wheel my trash cans from their storage location behind the fence to the driveway across the pavers instead of having to wheel them across the landscaping stones. Until recently, everything was fine, but at the end of February I noticed that some of the pavers were sinking, creating a tripping hazard. It appeared to me that the ground was not thoroughly compacted by the builder at the time the house was built. I called Robert at AZ Grass Pros and apprised him of the situation. He came out personally and looked it over. At Robert’s recommendation, I spoke to the people in the builder’s office, and they suggested I file a Customer Care Request with the builder, which I did that same afternoon. I requested that a representative of the builder come to my house to assess the situation and arrange for the problem to be rectified. I attached the photos named “Sunken Pavers 1” and “Sunken Pavers 2” which I have also attached here, to show the sunken pavers. I heard from the builder very soon after I filed the Customer Care Request, and not surprisingly, they said they had no responsibility for this problem and said I should contact the company that installed the pavers about it. They even proceeded to send me a copy of the "Pad Compaction Report" that certifies that the ground was compacted per the recommendations of the Post grade geotechnical report for the development. Personally, I think they need to tighten their specifications. I still believe that the ground was not properly compacted when the home was built, but given the "Pad Compaction Report", I felt there was nothing that could be done to get the builder to remedy the situation. I called Robert of AZ Grass Pros and made him aware of this; he assured me that AZ Grass Pros would take care of the situation. A few days later, Robert sent a crew out to make the necessary repairs, and they did a beautiful job (see attached photo named “Repaired Pavers”). If anyone needs landscaping work done, I highly recommend AZ Grass Pros – they stand behind their work, even when others shirk their responsibility.

The owner Robert spent a lot of time discussing our landscaping project and had suggestions and recommendations that ultimately made it an affordable cost. He also gave us resources for other work we wanted to get done. He is very personable and willing to work with you to transform your yard into a fabulous landscape. His crew worked diligently to complete the project in 2 days, despite periods of rain. They installed pavers, artificial turf, and retaining walls for custom garden beds, complete with irrigation. Kept us informed during every phase and were polite, courteous and respectful. Did a good job of cleaning up afterwards. While there was a few miscommunications, Robert promptly resolved the issues himself! Very responsive in returning calls and texts. Outstanding customer service. My wife and I are very pleased with the outcome and highly recommend AZ Grass Pros for your landscaping project. It's refreshing to work with a company that values integrity, workmanship, and customer relationships. Was a pleasure doing business with them!

We met with Robert during the end phase of our new house being built. Our goal was to create a low maintenance yard with a tree and some plants, with designated paver areas for a gazebo and hot tub. He came up with a design that was exactly what we were looking for at a reasonable price. After we closed on the the house Robert and his team worked hard to get the backyard completed. We also had our driveway pavers extended with a pathway to the side & backyard. We are thrilled with the results and are grateful for his excellent customer service. I would recommend AZ Grass Pros to anyone looking to transform their yard.
